Overview
NTF (Nordisk Transportforskning / Nordic Transport Research Forum) was a Nordic cooperative organisation that promoted transport research in the Nordic region through increased cooperation between Nordic countries. NTF also aimed to promote transport research cooperation with the Baltic States.
It assisted in the exchange of information between Nordic scientists and distributed Nordic research results.
NTF offered advice and assisted in establishing contacts for research cooperation on specific projects.
NTF promoted the interests of Nordic research within EU research programmes by participating in committees and in specialist groups. It also informed Nordic research institutions about support opportunities for participation in EU research programmes and relevant rules and regulations, and helped Nordic researchers to establish contacts with other research groups outside the Nordic region.
NTF organised conferences and workshops on research topics, either independently or in cooperation with other organisations.
NTF RECAP was a repository of organisations involved in transport research in the five participating Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden), as well as associated neighbouring countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and northern Germany). The organisations that were covered included research institutes, universities and consultancies. For each organisation, the compentences and expertise were explained in a standard form.
A total of 69 organisations are covered for the above ten countries.
