Overview

Objectives

In project KLEE, methods for hierarchical energy management in electric vehicles shall be developed. The goal is to increase the range of such vehicles by up to 10% for an existing battery capacity. In addition, the life of the battery should be extended. This can be achieved by intelligent energy management of the powertrain, as well as the integration of double-layer capacitors in the vehicle's energy grid. Finally, computer-aided establishment of economic way of driving enables the management of recovered energy. The findings from the new emerging connection between navigation system, environment sensors and energy management are intended to help vehicle manufacturers and the supplier industry to adapt their own innovative systems to customer needs and the specific requirements of electro-mobility.
