Overview

Background & Policy context

The research programme consists of projects concerning the financial questions of road maintenance and road traffic. Also thematic entities concerning the follow-up of market conditions and the procurement processes of road maintenance have been included in the research programme. The financial questions are studied as a part of the whole transport system in order to find out the possibilities to intensify the functioning of the transport system by allocating resources to road maintenance.

Strategic Objectives

The aim of the research programme is to improve the control of the road maintenance costs and the financial control and management. Another aim is to improve the productivity and quality of road maintenance. The programme also aims to standardise the concepts, procedures and methods of financial analyses of the different sectors of road maintenance.

Programme organisation

The research themes of the programme are divided into four groups:

  1. Financial analyses of road maintenance and road traffic;
  2. Pricing of road traffic;
  3. Cost management of road maintenance;
  4. Procurement processes of road maintenance.

The programme consists of 40 research projects altogether.
