Overview
The use of new information and communication systems in land transport will play an important role in several fields: safety, environment, traffic management, traveller information, etc. New devices/tools based on these systems can be developed, such as guided brakes, GPS driving assistance, etc.
The mission of this operational group is to study, propose and test new systems or services based on information and communication technologies in transport, in all their forms, on improving present possibilities as well as offering new services. It touches upon all fields: safety, environment, intermodality, traveller information and services.
This operational group is organised around three themes:
- Telematic systems: integration of telematics in infrastructure, vehicles, etc
- Mobile space: research on value of time after introduction of new services, "communicating" vehicles
- Multimodal information.
