Overview
The Ministry of Economy and Finance carries out research related to the areas of economy, technology, society and transport. Via wide-ranging collaboration between university institutes, state agencies and research centres efforts are being made to connect knowledge with the productive aspects of Greek life in order to improve living standards and quality of life in cultural terms in the country.
Since 2001 the Ministry continues its activities as "Ministry of Finance".
Research and technological activities of the Ministry have the following objectives:
- Support actions in the areas of transportation planning, technology, economy and quality of life
- Road safety
- Development of technologies
- Economic and regional development
- Integration of the economy with the transport sector
Ministries support research activities of both the Greek universities and those of the private sector, focusing on areas that are important for the national economy and for the improvement of quality of life.
Funding
The public funding spend over five years on the above mentioned projects amounts to approximately EUR 1.5 million.
