Overview

Objectives

The Action aims to create the market base for the roll out of bunkering services by boosting LNG fuel consumption and enabling the use of LNG on-shore and on-board for maritime transport and port operations.

It takes place on the Atlantic and Mediterranean Core Network Corridors. The Action is part of the Global Project LNGHIVE2, the Spanish flagship initiative for LNG maritime fuel deployment in Southern Europe.

The Global Project falls within the framework of the LNG deployment strategy led by the Spanish administration and framed under the LNG section of the Spanish National Policy Framework on the deployment of alternative fuels in transport. It includes the retrofit of 5 RO-PAX Balearia vessels to dual-fuel, the construction of a LNG supply station and a Multiple-Truck-to-Ship (MTTS) system in the Port of Gijon.
