The Highways Agency agreed to undertake the Chairmanship (and supporting secretariat) for the European VMS Platform, a group established with the endorsement of Western European Road Directors to encourage harmonisation of Variable Message Sign (VMS) Policy in Europe.
Objectives
To encourage harmonisation of VMS policy within Europe with a view to making the signs more easy for international drivers to read.
