This policy brief provides an overview of European research and innovation in support of zero‑emission heavy‑duty road transport. The analysed projects cover a wide range of topics, from battery chemistry to the deployment and operation of zero‑emission vehicles. The analysis showcases the advancements in developing and demonstrating these technologies and provides recommendations on future research and innovation focus areas to help meet European climate goals.
