Freight transport: Thematic Research Summary

Freight transport is primarily concerned with the movement of raw materials, agricultural products and animals, and of finished goods from supplier to consumer; it is expected to grow at a rate of 2.1% of GDP in the period 2000-2020. This paper provides a structured guide to the results of Research and Technical Development projects relating to Freight Transport, carried out in transport research programmes throughout the European Research Area.
