Overview
The transport sector needs to be innovative to support sustainable economic growth. This is made more urgent by the present economic crisis. Innovation in transport will be fundamental in addressing a range of economic, social and environmental challenges, including climate change, congestion, and the provision of basic mobility. Innovation is also essential for improving safety and security.
The 2010 International Transport Forum will focus on 'Transport and Innovation: Unleashing the Potential'. The Forum will involve high-level experts’ sessions on key themes related to innovation in transport, panel discussions between Ministers and other leading thinkers and decision-makers from industry and civil society, as well as a ministerial meeting. There will also be an exhibition, as well as opportunities to demonstrate new technologies in areas open to the public.
Ministers, key decision makers from industry, top researchers and representatives of civil society from more than 50 countries should attend.
