24th European Transport Congress
Description
In 2026, the Austrian Association for Traffic and Transport Sciences (ÖVG) celebrates its 100th anniversary in conjunction with the 24th European Transport Congress. The event will be held in Vienna and it will bring together leading voices from across Europe through inspiring keynotes, high-level panels, and scientific contributions from the mobility and transport research community.
At the heart of the conference are four key topics that pose major challenges – and opportunities – for our sector, now and in the future:
- Labour & diversity
- Climate change & resilience
- Asset management & availability
- Geopolitical change & strategic dependencies
The 2026 theme, “Resilient and Reliable Mobility Systems: Insights from Science and Practice,” invites contributions that explore how transport infrastructure can adapt to a changing climate, meet increasing availability demands, and remain robust amid external shocks.
Submissions should be about, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Maintenance and Availability of Transport Infrastructures
- Climate Change and Resilience in Relation to Transport Infrastructures
Key dates:
- Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: October 31, 2025
- Notification of Acceptance (incl. publication recommendations): December 15, 2025
- Full Paper Submission Deadline (for special issues): April 30, 2026.
The EPTS also invites submissions for the 21st Friedrich-List-Award dedicated to recent Master and PhD thesis. The Award will be conferred during the 24th ETC in Vienna. Application deadline: January 14, 2026.
