Overview
The CVIS (Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure Systems) project, co-funded by the European Union, has developed and beta tested its universal reference execution platform for cooperative systems. This multi-purpose open platform provides multiple communication interfaces, precise positioning and software support for V2V and V2I cooperative systems, and can be installed in both vehicles and roadside units. The platform is targeting people needing a flexible architecture for easy application development. Moreover, it delivers always-on connectivity and meter-level positioning. The workshop will include: presentation of core communication & network technologies for cooperative systems; presentation of the CVIS reference execution platform in the vehicle and in roadside installations; presentations from other relevant initiatives and projects in the area of cooperative systems; demonstration of vehicle-infrastructure communication based on the ISO CALM standard for management of short and medium-range communication and demonstration of advanced positioning.
