Overview
European Commissioner for Transport, Ms Violeta Bulc, will invite stakeholders to a high level conference on Boosting Investments in Transport, which will take place on 22 October 2015 in the Thon Hotel EU, rue de la Loi 75 in Brussels.
The conference aims at providing a framework for discussion on removing barriers and attracting private financing into long term transport investments, which constitute the vital basis for the worldwide competitiveness of the European Union, and of the social and territorial cohesion of its Member States.
The event will be attended by stakeholders from the financing sector, institutional long term investors, project promoters, consultancies engaged in transport economics, high level representatives involved in planning and financing of the European and national transport infrastructure and the European Investment Bank, which will play a crucial role in the implementation of the projects' pipeline from the European Fund for Strategic Investments.
The debate will take place in the context of implementing the Trans-European Transport Networks policy of the EU and of its financing and enabling framework - the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The discussion will focus on the European Fund for Strategic Investments and its synergies with the CEF- Transport part, in particular enhancing the projects' financing by means of the financial instruments as well as on the scope of the technical assistance in the preparation of projects.
