International Conference of the SEE MARINER project

Overview

ALOT, the Agency of East Lombardy for Transport and Logistics, in collaboration with the Province of Mantua Port Authority, is organizing an International Conference entitled “Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Maritime and Inland Waterways: Technical innovations and best practises”. The conference will be held at the University Foundation of Mantova (Fondazione Università di Mantova), via Scarsellini 2, MANTUA (Italy) on January 31st, 2013, as part of the SEE MARINER project.

SEE MARINER is the acronym for "South Eastern Europe Marine and River Integrated System for Monitoring the Transportation of Dangerous Goods”, a 35-month project co-funded by the European Union in the framework of the South East Europe (SEE) Transnational Cooperation Programme.

During the Conference European and Italian experts will present:

National and European policies in Transport of Dangerous Goods in the SEE Area
ICT Systems in monitoring of Dangerous Goods in the SEE ports
EU Projects for monitoring and forecasting risks and pollution

The conference will be targeted at national governments, regional and local coastal authorities, port authorities, ship owners/ operators, research institutes and NGOs working in the field.

A press conference will be held on the same day to allow SEE MARINER to share its progress in Italy and across South East Europe.
