International seminar on The Future of Urban Freight Transport in Europe

Overview

The seminar is linked to the study on Urban Freight Transport that is being carried out by MDS Transmodal and CTL on behalf of DG MOVE of the European Commission. The event will provide an opportunity to discuss likely future trends in UFT up to 2030, particularly in the light of the recent Transport White Paper, and make a contribution to the development of future European Commission policy in this area. The seminar will cover topics such as: 

Commercial business models for freight consolidation in urban areas;The balance between regulation and incentives in achieving UFT policy objectives;The role of land use planning in UFT;The appropriate policy-making role for the EU in UFT;The role of rail and waterborne freight in UFT;The impact of UFT policy on urban passenger transport. The seminar is also an excellent opportunity to network with practitioners and policy makers with an interest in UFT.
