International Transport Forum 2026
Description
The International Transport Forum (ITF) 2026 Summit returns to Leipzig, Germany, from 6 to 8 May 2026, under the Presidency of Azerbaijan. The Summit brings together ministers from ITF’s 69 member countries, industry leaders, academia, and international organisations to discuss global transport policy challenges.
The 2026 theme, “Funding Resilient Transport,” forms the second part of the 2025–2027 Summit trilogy focused on transport resilience. Participants will explore how to secure sustainable investment in transport systems that face increasing risks from climate impacts, extreme weather, pandemics, cyber‑attacks, and geopolitical tensions. Building resilience across physical infrastructure, digital systems, and cybersecurity has become a critical policy objective, with the Summit serving as a central global platform for exchanging strategies and mobilising action. The Summit will feature three Spotlight on Research Sessions examining core aspects of transport resilience:
Physical infrastructure resilience: how roads, railways, bridges, ports, and airports can endure and recover from disruptions; Digital infrastructure resilience: ensuring the stability of digital systems underpinning modern mobility; Cybersecurity resilience: strengthening protection of transport systems from cyber threats.
These sessions bring together research experts, policymakers, and decision-makers to support evidence-based policy development and highlight innovations shaping future mobility.
