The European Maritime Transport Environmental Report 2025 will be launched on 4 February 2025 at a high-level conference, jointly organised by European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and the European Environment Agency (EEA). The event will be streamed live from EMSA's headquarters in Lisbon.

The report provides a comprehensive overview of the environmental impact of the maritime transport sector in the EU, including greenhouse gas emissions, air emissions or marine litter. It also analyses current and future actions to reduce the sector's environmental impact, including new legislation on maritime decarbonisation.

The report will be launched by the Executive Directors of EMSA and EEA, Maja Markovčić Kostelac and Leena Ylä-Mononen. A keynote speech will be delivered by European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas. The event will be available to stream live via EMSA's website where also the detailed programme is available.
