Overview
The European Union Road Federation (ERF), the Brussels Programme Centre of the International Road Federation (IRF), will be hosting the “3rd European Road Congress” in Brussels on 25 June 2008, under the title “Making Roads Ready for the Future”. Following the successful accomplishment of the “1st European Road Congress” (Lisbon – November 2004) and the “2nd European Road Congress” (Brussels – November 2006), the third edition of the European Road Congress comes at a moment of paramount importance in the European agenda. Major challenges such as climate change, urban congestion, traffic safety and increasing demand for passenger and freight transport require adequate and innovative solutions. The third edition of the European Road Congress will provide a unique opportunity for sector leaders – both public and private – to identify the strategies, measures and trends which will be essential in addressing the future needs of the road sector. The Congress will offer a state-of-the-art overview of European road policy issues, through interactive sessions with high-level specialists.
