The “Professional Certificate in Strategic Public Transport Planning” programme aims to improve policy making and strategic capacity in the public transport sector, enabling more effective management of critical public transport planning issues. Through discussions with some of the leading professionals in the sector from all around the world, this week-long course will provide participants with an insight into current issues of national strategic transport planning and the importance of integrating local rural and urban strategies. It will explore a variety of concepts such as sustainability, viable investment options, risk and safety issues. The course facilitates links between public transport and economic and social development, and participants will also gain experience in developing and producing strategic plans relevant to broader development objectives.
