Overview
The SWITCH project will organise its final conference on Thursday, 14 April 2016 in Bremen, to present results and share knowledge with European cities on embracing active travel for health, and developing sound local promotional campaigns to help more people cycle and walk.
This conference is organised by the European co-funded project SWITCH which will come to an end in May 2016. SWITCH has used personalised travel planning approaches to encourage people to switch car trips to active modes.
The conference will present final results and conclusions drawn from the project and the five local campaigns in Antwerp (BE), Donostia-San Sebastián (ES), Gdansk (PL), London (UK), and Vienna (AT).
The event will look at:
- Biking and walking take-up among school children through gamification;
- Encouraging active travel take up at life changing moments;
- Embracing active travel for health through medical advice;
- Delivering personalised travel planning in different settings (residential and workplaces);
- Using ICT to boost active travel.
The SWITCH Toolbox will be unveiled to a wider audience. The Toolbox is a resource made for transport planners, practitioners working in travel behavioural change, and sustainable mobility advocates on how to design and develop a tailored SWITCH campaign.
The conference is a half day event, and will be followed by a training seminar for SWITCH Follower Cities.
The event is free to attend. The conference language will be English.
The SWITCH Final Conference will take place in Bremen, Germany, back to back to the 3rd European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans on 12-13 April 2016.
