Overview

The Urban Transports Community (UTCis organising its Final Conference from 25-26 October 2022 in Athens, Greece.

UTC is an Interreg MED Programme initiative launched in November 2016 and renewed in October 2019 to December 2022 that promotes sustainable urban mobility planning in the Euro-Mediterranean region as an effective tool to reduce carbon emissions and improve the quality of life of the population and the environment.

The Community has gathered seven territorial cooperation projects co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and almost 120 organisations (public authorities, private companies, universities, NGOs and international organisations) from 12 Euro-Mediterranean countries. In this second phase, the Community has the opportunity to bring the capitalisation process to the next level by providing local authorities with tailor-made support to implement the replicable solutions developed and tested by the Community.

For more information on the territorial cooperation projects of the Urban Transports Community, please visit the website.

The final event of the Community will be an occasion to take stock of the work and results achieved in the last three years. It will involve experts contributing to the topics of decarbonisation of mobility and resilience against climate change, as well as on SUMPs and innovation in Mediterranean cities. The Conference will also be an opportunity to discover what the cities participating in the Urban Transports Community’s Mentorship programme have accomplished by being engaged in an exclusive dialogue with a selected group of cities from the Urban Transports Community, who have pioneered sustainable urban mobility solutions in different fields.
