Summary

The EU-Catalyst partnership was launched in 2021 at COP26. They plan to support and develop large-scale green tech projects in Europe and boost investment in critical climate technologies.

On 1 December, at the COP28 in Dubai, the Commission, the European Investment Bank, and Breakthrough Energy announced the first two European projects to be funded by the partnership: Ørsted's FlagshipONE and Energy Dome's Ottana CO2 Battery. The projects will receive €240 million in total to fund the introduction of their game-changing green tech.
