Policy Brochure - Increasing the sustainability of air transport
‘‘Increasing the Sustainability of Air Transport’’ is the latest TRIP Policy Brochure, pointing out the critical role played by research and innovation in air transport, a sector of vital importance for EU economic growth and cohesion. Making air transport sustainable and environmentally friendly is an extremely challenging task, coupling the need to face ever increasing passenger movements and freight volumes, with the necessity of maintaining high levels of safety and security both in the air and on the ground.
Thematic Research Summary - Economic and regional impacts
This publication addresses research dealing with impact assessment of transport policies with respect to regional and economic impacts, covering research projects financed under the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7), the ESPON programme and studies financed by the European Commission. The Summary tackles research on the evaluation of economic impacts, the evaluation of regional impacts, as well as the development and application of tools to measure regional and economic effects.
Thematic Research Summary - Financing, pricing and taxation
This publication provides an overview of EU-funded research and studies in the policy area of financing, pricing and taxation, looking at research projects financed under the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7), and studies financed by DG MOVE. The publication looks at important challenges in the transport sector, such as financing transport infrastructure and innovative transport solutions, pricing measures, internalisation of external costs and smart ticketing.
Thematic Research Summary – Urban Transport
This publication addresses EU research on urban transport, directed at reducing the negative impacts of congestion in cities and towns. Projects from the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7) supporting local decision makers in delivering sustainable and integrated policies while offering smart and green solutions are presented, together with the main sustainable mobility measures implemented by the Civitas Plus demonstration cities.
All publications are available online and are published in English. The Thematic Research Summaries are produced only in electronic format. Printed copies of the Policy Brochure can be freely requested at helpdesk@transport-research.info.
