The Marco Polo programme provides financial support to projects for European freight traffic aiming at easing road congestion and air pollution by promoting a switch to greener transport modes or traffic avoidance. As of 1 January 2014, the programme is managed by the INEA Executive Agency. The Agency has now approved 27 projects from the call launched in March 2013.
Support to projects in the form of an outright grant, varies from a minimum of around €280,000 to a maximum of €4,2 million for projects covering five distinct types of actions: modal shift; catalyst actions; motorways of the sea; traffic avoidance; and common learning actions.
The full list of selected projects is available for download.
More information is available on the INEA website.
