New Urban Mobility Package Adopted

In December 2013, the European Commission adopted a new Urban Mobility Package, recognising the fact that urban congestion and associated consequences are risks that could jeopardise the EU goals for a competitive and resource-efficient transport system. With this new package, the EC is stepping up its support to towns and cities by focusing on four priorities: fostering best practices exchange, providing targeted financial support, delivering solutions to urban mobility challenges and enhancing international cooperation. To better understand what the urban mobility package implies, a section of the EC website is also offering useful and quick insight for citizens, listing replies to possible frequently asked questions (FAQs).
More information on the Urban Mobility Package is available on the EC website.
