In December 2013, the European Commission adopted a new Urban Mobility Package, recognising the fact that urban congestion and associated consequences are risks that could jeopardise the EU goals for a competitive and resource-efficient transport system.With this new package, the EC is stepping up its support to towns and cities by focusing on four priorities: fostering best practices exchange, providing targeted financial support, delivering solutions to urban mobility challenges and enhancing international cooperation.To better understand what the urban mobility package implies, a section of the EC website is also offering useful and quick insight for citizens, listing replies to possible frequently asked questions (FAQs).
