Together with the nomination of TEN-T Network Coordinators, more news is marking the progress of the core infrastructures’ realisation: EU Member States agreed to allocate 12 billion € for key projects of the nine core network corridors, a first tranche of the 26 billion € foreseen for infrastructure projects over the period 2014 – 2020.
Vice-President Kallas welcomed the budget allocation, highlighting that “the value added by investing in genuinely European infrastructure will become plainly visible to investors, transport users and citizens".
This major financial investment will help in achieving main transport policy objectives, enhancing interoperability, promoting inter-modality and boosting innovation.
