Horizon 2020 and STRIA

The Horizon 2020 (H2020) Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda (STRIA) represents the main point of reference for the analysis and assessment of the H2020 projects to decarbonise the European transport sector.

In coordination with Member States and transport stakeholders, the seven STRIA roadmaps aimed to set out common priorities to support and speed-up the research, innovation and deployment process leading to radical technology changes in transport. STRIA was also the interface between other relevant sectors such as energy and information and communication technology.

With the start of the Horizon Europe programme (2021-2027), the European Commission has reaffirmed the strategic role of public-private partnerships in facilitating research for achieving priority policy objectives whenever possible. Thus a new dimension has been added to the research agenda represented by the STRIA roadmaps. The connections between Horizon 2020 STRIA roadmaps and Horizon Europe Partnerships in the area of climate, energy and mobility can be visually explored in the dedicated page.
