Background & Policy context
The Austrian Climate and Energy Fund aims at supporting Austria's innovative technological developments in industry and research which both in a short- and a medium-term perspective interconnect already initiated developments, complement them and enforce marketability.
Strategic Objectives
Funding efforts especially focus on
- ambitious development projects with high potential for CO2 reduction;
- integration of the drive train within the vehicle;
- alternative fuels and
- optimising energy efficiency of the vehicle.
Austrian enterprises and research institutions have so far established extensive competencies and increased added value within these research fields. Thus a primary goal is the enhancement of their competitiveness.
