Overview
The MAROFF programme is a continuation of the former programme for maritime activities and offshore operations (also named MAROFF) which lasted from 2002 to 2009. The MAROFF programme works to realise the government's maritime strategy for promoting innovation and environmentally sustainable value creation in the maritime industries. The programme supports maritime companies and research institutions in further developing their knowledge-based competitive advantages and provides funding to projects targeted towards solving specific research challenges in order to achieve advances in the three key areas of innovation.
MAROFF helps to realise the government's maritime strategy for the promotion of innovation and environmental value creation in the maritime industries. The target groups for MAROFF are the shipping companies, ship building industry, service providers and equipment suppliers to all types of vessels and aquaculture facilities. MAROFF also supports knowledge building in research on technological and social science of importance to the maritime industry in Norway. The three key innovation areas are:
- Environment;
- Advanced transport and logistics;
- Environment-friendly demanding maritime operations.
