Overview

Background & Policy context

Transport is a key topic of the economic - and technology policy. An effective transport system is becoming more and more important for an attractive business location. The optimisation of the whole transport system and the efficient organisation of our mobility are the issues of this programme.

Strategic Objectives

The principal aims of the Move programme are:
- to increase the attractiveness of public transport
- to optimise the passenger and freight transport
- to create useful mobility services
- to implement networks for transferring information
- to foster Know-how through research and development

Programme organisation

Move relied on three sub-programmes:

Logistik Austria Plus: This programme funds innovative concepts and solutions in the field of transport and logistics and supports companies and research agencies by the implementation.

Take ÖV: The programme's emphasis is given to new electronic information systems (e.g. electronic ticketing). These measures should help to make public transport more comfortable.

Innovative Mobility Services: The programme supports innovative ideas in the areas, increasing the attractiveness of using sustainable modes of transport and fostering intermodal freight transport.

The Move programme was developed by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology. The selection of projects within the three different programmes is organised differently. Project partners receive support through an external management.

Creating more efficient mobility services and decreasing the negative influences of traffic are the main aims of Move. To achieve the complex requirements of a sustainable and capable transport system, intermodal system solutions are essential. Through the cooperation of companies, research agencies and potential users sustainable innovations should be developed.
