Overview
In 2009 the German government announced the goal to have one million electric vehicles, including battery-electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) passenger and goods livery vehicles on German roads by 2020. To promote experience and testing of various vehice-, infrastructure- and application concepts two successive demonstration activities were launched with funding from 2009 to 2016.
The programme "Show Windows Elektromobility" extends the parent programme "Electromobility Model Regions" by enriching the original four model regions (Modellregionen) with further four Show Windows (Schaufenster) and three unspecified project regions.
The projects covered shall demonstrate the technical, organisational and economic reasibility of electromobility concepts in practice. Thus, the application of as many as possible vehicles is key for project acceptance under the programmes.
The programme is organised by the NOW GmbH, the National Organisational Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology.
