Overview

Objectives

The aim of the project are analyses of passive safety of vehicles. The system for routine vehicle impact simulating by using acceleration of a cart with the tested object is a cheaper and more advanced device than the existing simulator systems. This concept is protected by the registered pattern UPV 21060 and there is an international patent pending PCT/EP/064326. The impact is simulated by the cart acceleration with the tested object. The necessary energy is accumulated in rubber ropes. The required acceleration behaviour is achieved by interchangeable cams. The base in form of an inverted box is attached by sucked forces, so the reactive force is fixed reliably. Main advantages: Accurate impact simulation. No plastic stopping tubes. Before the impact no move of the tested object. Short stopping trace of the cart. Easy cart replacement by another one, so high productivity.
