Overview

Objectives:

The main objective of the project is to develop an advanced, lightweight, sufficiently rigid and inexpensive ambulance superstructure in order to increase transport capacity of a vehicle especially for medical equipment and medical supplies. The current vehicles have globally their technical limits that restrict the carrying capacity. Developed superstructure must meet strict conditions of strength defined by DIN EN 1789 standard, which requires a dynamic resistance of the body in case of a road accident. Implementation of this standard is currently becoming a necessary condition for participating vehicles in domestic and international tenders. Reducing the weight of the vehicle superstructure contributes also to reduced demand on fuel consumption and increased vehicle range.
