LAAME-CROW - Advanced Measurement Techniques in a Low Speed CROR Wind Tunnel Test
Overview
Objectives:
Tests will be performed on a full model provided with installed Counter Rotating Open Rotor (CROR) engines.
The 1:7 scale model, provided by the Topic Manager, will be mounted on a dorsal sting, located at tunnel centre line. The model is provided with two powered Counter Rotating propellers which are driven by two air motors (owned by the Topic Manager). The model is basically the same as used in L-CROR CTS (JTI-CS-2012-01-SFWA-02-028). However, it will be provided with 2 new engine configurations, new model parts representative of new engine configurations, new nacelle, new pylon and new blades, airframe inflow variations.
The low speed wind tunnel test is offered in the DNW-LLF (Large Low speed Facility) 8m x 6m open test section.
The aim is generating high quality aerodynamic, aero-acoustic and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) flow field data.
