The forecasted demand for railway traffic suggested that, in many European and North American networks, situations close to collapse could occur in relevant stations and strategic junctions that may not be solved with additional investment in building new infrastructures. The goal of GoalHUB was to enable a more efficient use at these stations in order to maximize their offered capacity.​
