Overview
The Action is part of a Global Project which aims to facilitate the mass-market adoption of (Bio) LNG as an alternative fuel by developing the infrastructure in a large number of EU Member States, including countries eligible for the cohesion fund.
The overall objective of the Action is to promote the use of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as fuel for road transport. It is located on the following Core Network corridors: Mediterranean, North Sea-Mediterranean, Scandinavian-Mediterranean and the Atlantic corridor and in several urban nodes. It consists of deploying 15 innovative multi-fuel stations: eleven in France, two in Italy and two in the United Kingdom.
The stations will supply three different fuels: (Bio) LNG, (Bio) CNG, and cryogenic nitrogen for refrigerated transport ("Blueeze"). In the long term, the Action aims to reduce 92,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.
