Overview
The project deepened the topic of lightweight truck cockpit architecture, particularly addressed to use in urban and suburban delivery journeys. Its ambition was to meet the requirements of CO2 emissions reduction and the integration of new hybrid and/or electric engines. In addition, the CLIC cockpit will increase and optimize the loading capacity, while promoting manoeuvrability and better vehicle usage conditions.
The objective of CLIC was to reduce the weight of the cockpit of about 20-25%. The project focused its attention to the replacement of existing materials with new ones and to redesign future truck cockpits, taking into consideration growing environmental concerns and delivery constraints in urban areas.

Results
The project outcome resulted in an innovative cockpit for trucks, suitable for most urban and suburban uses. Its lower mass, renewed architecture and optimizsation of vibro/acoustic performance contributes to the decrease of environmental impacts, particularly in terms of CO2 and noise emissions.
