Overview

Objectives:

The Action is the first phase of the Global Project for developing an intermodal LNG distribution system, based on cryogenic tank containers and intelligent docking stations, covering at least all Polish sea ports belonging to the TEN-T Core Network (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin, Świnoujście) and key road and rail transport routes belonging to the TEN-T North Sea-Baltic and Baltic-Adriatic Core Network Corridors.

The Action consists of a set of studies with the pilot operation of one ‘smart’ docking station, enabling long-term storage of LNG in standard 20’ cryogenic ISO-containers, and redistribution of LNG to end users. The pilot plant will be located in the logistics terminal of Sławków, which is a core Rail Road Terminal.

The Action will allow gathering financial and operational data, aiming at preparing a CBA and a Business Plan for wider implementation. Overall, the Action contributes to support the use of intermodal transport for sustainable LNG logistics.
