Overview
Background & policy context:
The Dutch cover more than one-quarter (28%) of their journeys in the Netherlands by bicycle. As such, cycling fulfils an important role in the Dutch mobility system. This share is relatively stable over time. Although the share decreased slightly during the COVID pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the share in 2022 is back to the same level as in the period 2012-2019
Objectives:
The objective of this project was to collect and present the most important and recent facts about cycling in the Netherlands.
