Overview

Objectives:

The aim of the project is design of the control system for the ship model towing tank moving carriage and design of the wave generator control system and testing of the above.

The control system is based on the industrial controllers and the target is to develop a modern and innovative, expandable and flexible system, which allows to use predefined motion regimes as well as model based (Matlab) motion profiles. A new user interface and measurement and data acquisition system design is included in the current project.

The towing tank different measurement sensors and control system must operate synchronous with the millisecond accuracy and therefore all the equipment is connected to the time server and further expansion options will be included for the full test automation in the future.
