Overview
Objectives:
This project addresses the vibro-acoustic impact of rail in urban environments. It focuses on vibroacoustic emissions originating from the vehicle-track dynamic interaction, which is the most important aspect of the running conditions that occur in these environments. Vibratory phenomenon are studied in which the dynamics of the track and the vehicle are coupled. In particular, the broad-spectrum rolling noise and the response to discrete defects (impacts produced in detours, crossings, joints and wheel-flats), as well as the squeal that is generated in curves.
