Development of smart e-charging services in Italy
Overview
Background & policy context:
The Action is part of a Global Project aiming at the installation of a network of 1,788 normal, fast and ultra-fast charging stations across urban nodes of the TEN-T network, including key sections of the Rhine-Alpine, Scandinavian-Mediterranean, Mediterranean and Baltic-Adriatic Corridors.
This Action was selected in the context of the CEF Blending facility Call, where the CEF support is coupled with a substantial investment by a financial institution.
Objectives:
The Action aims to implement a network of Electric Vehicles charging infrastructure in Italy, by relying on 100% renewable electricity and targeting the deployment of sustainable alternative fuels for transport.
The Action will contribute to the promotion and development of e-mobility and use of electric vehicles, leading to cleaner and more efficient transport.
Methodology:
In particular, the Action will deploy 210 High Power Charging (HPC) stations providing for 420 charging points and will upgrade the existing IT platform to ensure swift management of the extended charging network.
