ECO-Net - Spanish network of alternative fuels refuelling stations
Overview
Background & policy context:
The Action is implemented in line with the guidelines established in the Spanish Policy Framework for the development of the alternative fuels market in transport sector and to accelerate large-scale deployment of the relevant Liquefied-to-Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) infrastructure.
This Action has been selected in the context of the CEF Blending Facility Call, where the CEF support is coupled with substantial investment by a financial institution.
Objectives:
In particular, the Action will enhance the network of publicly available gas stations in Spain by the construction of 15 new stations, located on the Mediterranean and Atlantic Core network corridors as well as on the Comprehensive network.
Methodology:
The Action will promote and contribute to the development of LCNG as a fuel in road transport, by improving the network coverage for its users, thus reducing dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating the environmental impact of road transport.
