Overview

Objectives

The Action’s overall objective was to reduce the environmental impact of maritime transport in the Baltic Sea by offering Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as an alternative fuel for shipping.

The specific objective of the Action was to deliver gas to LNG fuelled vessels in the TEN-T Core ports Helsinki, Tallinn, Hamina, Turku, Kotka, Naantali and small scale ports in Estonia.

Methodology

To achieve this objective a 6,000 m3 LNG bunker vessel was built, ensuring mobile and efficient LNG supply for the growing number of LNG vessels in the Baltic Sea.
