Overview

Objectives

Within this project, the currently emerging legal standards for emissions measurements under realistic conditions on the road should be tested. In addition, complementary standard measurements on a bench are carried out. The aim is to verify the compliance with limits in real operation. Furthermore, comparisons between several vehicles regarding the emission standard are made. It is the aim to determine the real contribution to air pollution of different types of vehicles (different technology concepts). The current state of knowledge is not sufficient to provide an answer to this.

In addition, the results will be used as the basis for ongoing development of the legal regulations.

The Handbook for Emission Factors (HBEFA) as a basis for the TREMOD is about to undergo an upgrade: The central aspect is the review and updating a lot of professional content , which are mainly dealing with the implementation of new legal standards.

Methodology

The project is about measuring the emissions of road vehicles. The measurements are implemented under realistic conditions on the road. In addition, complementary standard measurements on a bench are carried out.
