Results

In 2007 several Freight and Passenger RUs joined the project and consolidated theintegrated IM / RU approach. In order to analyse, in real situation, the data quality and transfer between the national monitoring systems and the Europtirails, three test-runs were organised along international corridors, namely Antwerp-Basle, Rotterdam-Milan and Verona-Munich, on a total of 1300 Passenger and 1500 Freight trains.

The detected technical shortcomings and their possibly solutions as well as the bonus/malus calculation mechanisms have been analysed and a set of new test-runs are planned for 2008. A majority of European CEOs has given their support and commitment to the EPR project in general and the 2008 test-runs in particular by signing an EPR Memorandum of Understanding.
