The scope of this project includes the development of a road marking-system that steadily maintains its properties with regard to traffic (visibility during day and night, drainage capability as well as skid resistance) despite the increased stress during the winter period. This shall be developed via a multi-stage procedure including laboratory and field studies. The approach includes a geometric modification of the shape and the characteristics of the marking-system whilst taking into consideration the technical feasibility.
