The project target aims at extending and updating the interfaces and abilities of IMA's automotive communication and control unit (ECU).

The IMA's ECU provides an interface for communication networks both inside and outside the vehicle and at the same time it provides limited backup power for basic communication in non-stable, damaged or destroyed environments. The proposed interface extension involves especially high-speed 3G/LTE communication, satellite navigation (GPS, Glonass etc), CAN, power line and a BroadR-Reach Automotive Ethernet.
