Objective of the three weather SMEs of GalileoCast is to innovate new applications on weather related mass market services, in particular for mobile and broadcast customers. Project covers systematic innovation phase, feasibility and market studies, product development, creating viable business models, validation and market trial, and finally, exploitation planning and effective dissemination of results to the European weather community. Three preliminary business ideas cover the whole weather service chain from developing hybrid (fixed and mobile combined) observation methods which are used for very-high-resolution models. These and additional geoinformation provide input into attractive new broadcast and mobile services for customers.
