Overview
Objectives
The SIPAN project conducted studies to develop an innovative integrated vibroacoustic insulation system for naval flooring, to be outfitted on high-level comfort vessels, in order to reduce the noise from footsteps that propagates through the deck structures to the cabins below.
Methodology
The SIPAN system has been engineered in the operating environment through experiments conducted in a laboratory, simulation of a naval bridge and in real conditions on a real-size naval block.
Results
The results of the project included:
- creation of prototypes for the final certification by classification registers,
- definition of technical specifications of the product, production process and installation procedure.
